Designed by renowned naval architect Doug Peterson, the Kelly Peterson 44 earned its reputation as a capable, comfortable bluewater cruiser by combining a strong offshore pedigree with balanced, responsive sailing performance. Built in Taiwan during an era known for robust yacht construction, this full-keeled double-ender offers a sea-kindly motion, excellent stability, and the ability to maintain momentum through challenging conditions while remaining manageable for a cruising couple or experienced solo sailor.
KEY LIME PIE has been actively cruised throughout the Sea of Cortez and is well equipped for extended passagemaking and liveaboard life. Her warm teak interior includes a spacious saloon, U-shaped galley with updated countertops, Princess 3-burner stove and oven, Isotherm refrigeration, and generous storage. Accommodations include an aft master cabin with king berth and ensuite head, a private forward V-berth cabin with adjacent composting head, and a saloon settee suitable as a sea berth.
Cruising equipment includes Hydrovane windvane steering, B&G electronics and autopilot, Furuno AIS, Simrad Halo radar, Victron energy systems, solar charging, Balmar 120A alternator, SeaWater Pro 20 GPH watermaker, Starlink-ready aluminum solar arch, and a 74-lb Rocna anchor with 250 ft. of chain.
Her sail inventory includes a 2023 Precision Sails mainsail, 2023 furling 100% jib, furling staysail, asymmetrical spinnaker, and spare 135% genoa. A 2023 11-ft Zodiac with Yamaha 15hp four-stroke is also included.
Recent improvements include May 2026 bottom paint, 2023 topside paint, removal and fiberglass sealing of the teak decks in 2023, a 2021 upper engine rebuild, updated wiring, AGM house batteries, and replacement of the starboard fuel tank.
